Southern Nevada Working Dog Association

501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization (Status Pending)

Serving the Dogs That Served Us.

About SNWDA

The Southern Nevada Working Dog Association is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting active and retired working dogs throughout Southern Nevada. These dogs serve, or have served, in the interest of public safety, including law enforcement, detection, security, search and rescue, and other working dog roles that help protect our communities.

As SNWDA refocuses its mission and moves forward as a nonprofit organization, our primary purpose is to assist working dogs and their handlers with extraordinary veterinary and medical expenses. Many of these dogs spend their careers protecting people, securing public spaces, detecting threats, and serving the community. When they face serious medical challenges, we believe they deserve support.

SNWDA is operated entirely by dedicated volunteers. No funds are used to compensate our volunteers. Donations and resources are directed toward supporting the medical care, welfare, and dignity of active and retired working dogs that have served Southern Nevada.

Volunteers & Donors

SNWDA is an all-volunteer organization, and no funds are used to compensate our volunteers. We welcome community members, businesses, veterinarians, sponsors, and donors who want to help support the medical care and welfare of Southern Nevada’s working dogs.

Our Core Priorities

Medical Assistance

SNWDA’s primary priority is to assist active and retired working dogs in Southern Nevada with extraordinary veterinary and medical expenses. These dogs spend their lives serving in roles that protect people, detect threats, support public safety operations, and provide a safer community for all of us. When a working dog faces a serious injury, illness, emergency surgery, or major medical condition, the cost of care can be overwhelming. SNWDA exists to help bridge that gap and support the dogs that have given so much through their service.

Retired Working Dog Support

Retired working dogs deserve care, dignity, and respect after their years of service. Many of these dogs have spent their careers working beside handlers, protecting public spaces, supporting law enforcement or security operations, and serving the public in ways most people never see. Retirement should not mean they are forgotten. SNWDA is committed to standing behind retired working dogs when major medical needs arise, helping ensure they receive the care they earned through years of loyal service.

Public Safety Working Dog Welfare

SNWDA is committed to building a stronger support network for Southern Nevada’s working dog community. This includes handlers, agencies, veterinarians, volunteers, donors, sponsors, and community partners who believe in the value of these dogs and the work they perform. By bringing people together around a shared mission, SNWDA helps ensure that active and retired working dogs have advocates standing ready when serious medical challenges occur. Our goal is simple: support the dogs, support the handlers, and honor the service.
