Woody is the K9 Supervisor/Trainer for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority leading K9 assets that protect over 4.6 million square foot facility and 2.5 million square feet of exhibit space. The LVCVA has approximately 2.5 convention visitors annually. Implement and maintain protocols training for explosive detection canine’s program (Static and Vapor Wake). Responsible for hiring and training new K-9 Officers. Review daily patrol log, training records, and ensure canine receives a yearly examination by the department selected licensed veterinarian. Provide K-9 Support for special assignment throughout the year (i.e., New Year’s Celebration, NFL Draft, Rock N Roll Marathon, and World Soccer Champion, etc.).


Started my law enforcement career with the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office (CA). Worked in varies position in department. Field Training Officer, Gang Unit, Court and Long-Haul Transportation, and Sheriff Emergency Response Team (SERT). Relocated to Las Vegas, NV 2004. As a Nevadan, I was employed at exquisite Wynn Las Vegas in K9 Unit. Attended highly motivated challenging 16-week Explosive Detection Handler Course at Work Dogs International. After 8 years and fine tuning my skills, I was given the opportunity to work for Government Agency at LVCVA and overseeing the daily operation of K-9 Unit.


Certifying Official: Private Investigator Licensing Board (PILB) and Drugbeat. Member of International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (IABTI) and National Police Canine Association
